Before you pay
- Keep the reference number ready (top left of the bill).
- Note the due date and the payable within due date amount.
- Make sure the app shows MEPCO and the right consumer name before confirming.
Pay with Raast QR
Newer MEPCO bills carry a Raast QR code. Open your bank app, choose Scan QR, point the camera at the code, confirm the amount and pay. It is instant and free of extra steps. If you are paying from the bill shown on this site, tap the QR on the bill to enlarge it.
Pay through a banking app
- Log in to your bank’s app or internet banking.
- Go to Bill Payment → Utility → Electricity.
- Choose MEPCO.
- Enter the 14-digit reference number; the app fetches the amount.
- Confirm and save the receipt or screenshot.
Pay with JazzCash
- Open the JazzCash app and tap Bill Payment (or Pay Bills).
- Select Electricity → MEPCO.
- Enter the reference number, check the amount, enter your MPIN.
- Keep the transaction ID from the confirmation message.
Pay with Easypaisa
- Open the Easypaisa app and go to Bill Payment.
- Choose Electricity → MEPCO.
- Enter the reference number and confirm the amount.
- Pay and keep the receipt.
Menu names change from time to time in each app, but the path is always Bill Payment → Electricity → MEPCO.
Online electricity bill payment: avoid these slip-ups
- One digit off. A wrong reference number can pay someone else’s bill. Copy it from the bill rather than typing from memory, and check the consumer name the app shows.
- Paying an old amount. If the new bill is out, the app fetches the new figure. Compare the bill month with the one you meant to pay.
- No receipt. Save the confirmation screen or transaction ID every time. It’s your only proof if the payment doesn’t post.
- Waiting until the last day. Paying a day or two early leaves room to fix a failed transaction before the due date.
Pay in person
Bank branches, post offices and authorised retailers accept MEPCO bills. Take the paper bill or a printed duplicate bill before the due date. Keep the stamped part as your receipt.
How to check if your MEPCO bill is paid or not
Payments made through banks and wallets usually post within a few working days. To confirm, open your bill here with the reference number. A posted payment shows the Amount Paid and Payment Date, often with a PAID stamp. The 12-month history table also lists each month’s payment.
This MEPCO bill paid check takes a few seconds and needs nothing but the reference number. If the amount paid is smaller than the bill, the difference will show up as arrears next month, so it’s worth a look even when you’re sure you paid. To trace older months, see MEPCO bill history.
If the payment still does not appear and the next bill shows it as arrears, take the receipt to your sub-division customer service centre.
Paying after the due date
Paying late adds a late payment (L.P.) surcharge. The bill prints the exact figure under “Payable After Due Date”, sometimes in two stages with their own dates. Long non-payment can lead to disconnection; reconnection then needs the dues to be cleared. See MEPCO reconnection. If a bill is too large to pay at once, ask about installments before the due date.
Stay safe
- Pay only through your own bank, wallet, branch or post office.
- Never send money to a person’s mobile account to “settle” a bill.
- Websites, including this one, cannot collect your bill payment.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I pay my MEPCO bill online?
Use your bank app, internet banking, JazzCash or Easypaisa: choose Bill Payment, then Electricity, then MEPCO, and enter the 14-digit reference number. You can also scan the Raast QR code on the bill.
How long does a MEPCO payment take to show on the bill?
Usually a few working days. Check your bill again after two or three days; the amount paid and payment date appear once it is posted.
Can I pay my MEPCO bill after the due date online?
Yes, but the late payment surcharge is added. The app shows the higher payable-after-due-date amount.
Do I need the paper bill to pay?
No. Apps and wallets need only the reference number. A bank branch may ask for the bill, which you can print as a duplicate.
How can I check whether my MEPCO bill is paid or not?
Open your bill on this page with the 14-digit reference number a few days after paying. Once MEPCO posts the payment, the bill shows the amount paid and payment date, often with a PAID stamp. The 12-month history table also lists the payment received against each month's bill.
Which amount should I pay on my MEPCO bill?
Pay the Payable Within Due Date amount on or before the due date printed on the bill. After that date the Payable After Due Date figure applies, which includes the late payment surcharge, sometimes in two stages. Banking and wallet apps show the amount due on the day you pay.
